It’s finally that time: last week of classes for the year!

Hey all,

We are all so excited to put an end to another year under our belts. This is a stressful time but it is very exciting as well. This is the last week of classes and over the past weekend we had our final open house for the year. I had some great conversations with juniors and their families. Next week is finals; hopeful they aren’t too tough! Good luck everyone!

Hey Everyone it’s Alex, it’s a beautiful day today in Albany! So far this week has been great but very busy. Yesterday was my birthday so after I went to class, my friends and I went out in Albany. Today in lab I had my last assessment where we were required to make an IV. In our fifth year lab we get a chance to compound everything that we were taught to compound in the previous two years. This is very helpful when it comes to reviewing for the NYS part 3 boards. Tomorrow is the day I present my seminar to the class. It has required a lot of hard work because it was a challenging topic but I think and hope that it will go pretty smoothly. After my seminar tomorrow I will have to chance to get everything ready for the All The Way dance that is on Saturday. This is our last hoorah together as a class and I’m really looking forward to it. I hope everyone is getting the chance to enjoy this beautiful weather and has a great week!!

Hi there!

Well another week has passed and school is dwindling even closer to an end. Final projects are coming due and some last tests to finish up courses before finals. We had another successful accepted students day on Saturday. It was very exciting to sit and answer questions of possible bachelors students. I hope everyone had a great time. We have one last open house coming up this Saturday. Come and take a tour if you haven’t yet!

Hey everyone,

The number of school days are really winding down. I think I said that these next few weeks are going to be pretty busy and so far that’s holding true. I have begun working on my seminar presentation and hope to finish it up this weekend so that I can practice multiple times before presenting it next week. This week we have a test in NYS Pharmacy Law. This class helps us to prepare for the NYS law portion of the boards. On Friday we have our annual SpringFest. This year looks like it is going to be a bunch of fun. There will be team competitions, great food, and a black light dance on Friday night. On Saturday we will have our last accepted students day. This will be the last event that I will work at as a student ambassador and following that my family is coming down to celebrate mine and my roommates birthday next week. We have plans to go to Jack’s Oyster House in downtown Albany. I have heard great things about it and I am really excited to try it and spend some time with my family.

I hope to see some of you this weekend at the accepted students day!!

Hey guys!

The end of the school year keeps getting closer and it’s very exciting to have one more year under my belt! We only have three weeks to go. Finals are approaching fast so everyone is starting to wrap things up and study for finals week. Over the weekend we had our annual relay for life and raised over $40,000. It was a very successful year to help fight cancer! We also had our annual dance show for our schools dance team. Our girls did wonderful and really showed their talent!

Hey Everyone!

It’s Alex again, I hope everyone is doing well. I can’t believe how quickly this semester is going by. I only have 16 more days of classes left before finals start and I’m really excited because I know the next couple of weeks are going to fly. As a fifth year we have to present a randomly assigned topic to our class. I just received my presentation topic today and have two weeks to do my research and get my presentation ready. This coming weekend, our school’s dance team has their dance show, where they showcase all of their hard work that they put in over the year. I’m also pretty excited that the masters are on this weekend so I can watch that to take a break from working on my presentation and studying. I am also running in the Delmar Dash on Sunday. This is a 5 mile race that takes place a few miles from school and a bunch of the cross country team is participating. It will be a lot of fun but it looks like its going to be pretty chilly this weekend here.

Hey there!

I hope everyone had a great Easter. The second years had a test today in psychology and tomorrow we have one in statistics so we are all studying away and keeping busy. It’s pretty windy today so I think most of us are happy to stay inside away from the cold and wind. Thursday is an open house for high school juniors; I’m looking forward to giving them tours and introducing them to our awesome school! Have a great week everyone!

Hey everyone!

All the students on campus seem to be back in the swing of things after a much needed spring break. I didn’t travel anywhere, but it was nice to get away from the books for a week and hear about some of the fun that my classmates had on their vacations.

I had a few tough exams last week (Organic Chemistry and Physics); but it feels good to be done with them now. Just in time for the spring weather, too. We had a fairly warm weekend here in Albany and it was awesome to get outside to run and throw around the football and frisbee. Students were on the new turf field all weekend playing pick up sports and some were even studying/ watching on the bleachers.

Finally, congratulations to all of the high school seniors who have been accepted to ACPHS! As Kelsey said, calling nights are coming up soon be on the look out for a congratulatory phone call!

I hope everyone is having a great week and a great Easter Weekend! This warm weather is great to be outside in and enjoy the spring air. Hey Everyone!

Its Alex, I’m back from spring break feeling refreshed and ready to conquer the rest of this semester. I went to Naples, Florida over break to visit my grandparents with my mom. It was so nice and warm there compared to the Albany weather. It is starting to finally feel like spring here, I just hope that we’ve seen the last of the snow. From now until the end of the semester which is only 40 days away for me, I will be pretty busy with tests and other school work. Next week I have my Top 250 drug test. For that exam we are required to know the drug’s brand and generic name, what it is used for, typical dosing, adverse effects and drug interactions. Although it seems like a lot, the majority of the medications we have learned over the course of the past year and half so I don’t think that it will be too bad.

Tonight I’m pretty excited because Syracuse basketball plays. I have them in my bracket winning this round so I’m really crossing my fingers Although it ruined my bracket, I was pretty excited to see Georgetown lose to Florida Gulf Coast. Their team has been amazing to watch because they play with so much heart.

Hey everyone!

I hope you are all having a great week! My spring break is going well, even though I had to take a couple days to study for some tests next week. I have Anatomy & Physiology as well as Physics. I hope everyone didn’t get hit as hard as I did with the snow storm! We had around 12 inches of snow! My car was buried! Enjoy the rest of your week everyone!

Hey guys!

How is everyone doing this week? Our first Accepted Student Day was very successful and I was very excited to give tours to our perspective students!

Right now the entire campus is looking forward to spring break! Only two more days! Many of the students are going on vacation to warm places and some (like me) are working but all in all we are all excited for a break! I do love coming back to see the fresh flowers and grass on the campus, hopefully it stays warm and all the snow officially goes away!

Hey Guys!

I am looking forward to our Accepted Students Day this weekend and meeting all the potential new freshmen! Our New Students day was very succesful last weekend. This week we are begining the application process for our Orientation Committee. Orientation Committee is when I had a ton of fun meeting new freshmen and helping them get adjusted to college life. Last year was my first year on the committee and I look forward to being a part of it again this year as well as every upcoming year that I spend at ACPHS.

This week has been a lot of studying! We, second years, have our first statistics test tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great week!

Hey everyone!

It’s been another good week here at ACPHS. After a hectic week or so of studying for Organic Chemistry and Anatomy/ Physiology tests, it’s nice to have only one exam left before spring break. A huge congratulation to the women’s basketball team for their comeback win in the national semifinal game. After trailing for most of the game, the panthers ended the game on a 19-2 run beat Penn State-Beaver 58-48. With the win, the team will play for their first ever national championship tonight against Berkeley College! Finally, I’m looking forward to participating in the Mr. ACPHS pageant next Friday. It should be a really fun way to raise money for a great cause. All of the proceeds from the voting will go towards Relay for Life.

Hey guys!

I hope everyone is doing well. This week has been a good week so far! We had our first anatomy and physiology test on Monday and it went pretty well. I was really excited for this week because practice for our brand new track & field club began. We are meeting Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I am really excited to get this club moving because tack & field was the main sport I played in high school. This is just another club added to our expanding group. It is exciting being able to use our new track on the newly renovated soccer field!

Hey guys!

I hope everyone had a great long weekend! I sure did. I was able to go home for a couple days and see my family. Saturday we had a very successful open house! I enjoyed my time giving a tour to the two families I was able to talk with. This week is pretty uneventful for the Bachelor’s Students but our fellow PharmD students have two tests in psychology and orgnaic chemistry so good luck to them! Tomorrow night I will be calling a number of accepted students again to congratulate them along with my fellow student ambassadors. Everyone look out for your phone calls!

Hey everyone

It’s safe to say that the semester is back into full swing. I had my first physics test on Thursday, and have been studying hard for the first Organic Chemistry test coming up on Wednesday. On a lighter note, the Phi Delta Chi blood drive was a huge success this past week! On Valentine’s Day, the professional pharmacy fraternity held it’s bi-annual blood drive to sponsor the Red Cross. They had a nice turn out with nearly 100 donors, including 16 first time donors. It’s estimated that the 69 units of blood collected could save up to 207 lives!

Keeping up with the basketball news, both the men’s and women’s teams qualified for the 2013 USCAA National tournament, marking the first time that either team will have the chance to compete for the national championship! Seeding for the tournament will be released later this week.

I hope to see a lot of you on campus this weekend for the Open House!

Hey guys!

It’s finally that time of the semester for me, my first test. This week has been full of long nights studying away for my physics test coming up on Thursday. Hopefully it goes well. Afterwards, me and my friends are going out for Valentine’s Day! We are taking advantage of the school’s five dollar movie tickets they have for sale every Thursday and Friday in our student center. This is one of the many discount tickets we have.

Hey everybody

It’s been another good week here at ACPHS! This past week, our RA hosted a super bowl party for the 8^th floor of Notre Dame (second year housing building). Each RA hosts several events each semester for their residents and/ or the entire building. Of course we had pizza and wings to watch the game with, but we also had some contests. We had a score guessing contest for halftime and the final score. The prizes for the closest were $10 gift cards to the Recovery Room Sports Grill. Also, everybody wore some sort of football attire and the best dressed also won a gift card. We all had a lot of fun watching the game together as the 49ers comeback fell short against the Ravens.

As far as school goes, it seems as though everyone has their first test next week. For me, it is a physics exam on Thursday. We thought we would be stuck inside studying today because of winter storm Nemo, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as predicted. Last night and this morning there were a lot of students outside playing snow football and making snowmen. Some people even cross country skied around campus! Spending some time outside and playing indoors with the tennis club today was a great break from schoolwork.
